There has been a lot of buzz around the film Laal Singh Chaddha since the time it was announced earlier this year. The film that stars Aamir Khan and features Kareena Kapoor as his love interest is an official remake of the Hollywood 1994 classic Forrest Gump.

Adding to the excitement of the fans, the film has finally gone on the floors and the shooting has begun with first schedule being shot in Mumbai. Earlier it was reported that the first schedule will be shot in Punjab. The movie is going to be shot at 100 live locations across India as the actor does not believe in studio setups.

A lot has been said about the superstar’s preparations for his role in the movie and he is even undergoing physical changes to better fit his character, the actor will be gaining a whopping 20 kg. Also, the actor is growing his beard to keep the Punjabi look intact and will be sporting a turban in some parts of the film to look the part.

The original 1994 film that starred Tom Hanks looks at the American history from the protagonist’s perspective who is a slow-witted but kind-hearted man and also touches upon controversial subjects like Vietnam War.

In the Hindi remake, Aamir Khan’s Sardarji character will look at the Indian history from the time of the Partition. Reportedly, the film will also touch upon controversial topics which include Operation Blue Star and Babri Masjid demolition.

Laal Singh Chaddha is being made by Viacom and Aamir Khan Productions together and will be directed by Advait Chandan who also made Secret Superstar. The film is expected to release on Christmas next year.
