Prabhas as Lord Rama in Adipurush to arrive on August 11, 2022 on the big screen


Take out your calendars and set 11th August 2022 as the date of Lord Rama’s arrival. Usually, he comes on Diwali but this time he is coming in August. The much-anticipated film, Adipurush based on the Ramayana, is coming out on the date. Makers of the film which stars actor, Prabhas as Lord Rama revealed on Thursday.

Om Raut who is going to direct the film posted a tweet revealing the release date of the epic film. Prabhas’s selection as Lord Rama didn’t came as a surprise to many people, when his casting was announced. Many people regard him as the perfect choice to portray the Lord and even director, Om Raut had echoed similar sentiments in an earlier interview with PTI. At the time, he had said :

“I think Prabhas is just perfect. His entire persona, the calmness that he has. His eyes are so deep, his stance, the way he carries himself, his entire personality. I could see Adipurush in him and if it wasn’t him, I wouldn’t have made the film.”

Bollywood star, Saif Ali Khan who collaborated with Raut in his directorial debut last year, Tanhaji, is going to play the villain, Lankesh in the film. Even in Tanhaji the actor had portrayed the role of a villain, which audience had loved. Though this time as Raavan, the challenge for the actor and the stakes are high.

Adipurush was announced in August and at that time, Prabhas talked about playing the role of Lord Rama, saying-

“Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om has designed it.”

Adipurush will be shot in Hindi and Telugu, while it will get a release in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada as well.
