The antagonist from Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mardaani’ Tahir Raj Bhasin has been roped in to play the role of Sunil Gavaskar in Kabir Khan‘s ‘83. The actor, noted for his work in ‘Mardaani’, ‘Force 2’ and ‘Manto’ has largely played negative characters but his performance has earned him wide recognition and appreciation.

The film based on 1983 cricket world cup game when India created history and won its first world cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. Talented actor Ranveer Singh will be seen in the role of Kapil Dev and cricketer has been training the cast himself.
Critically acclaimed natural actor Pankaj Tripathi will be seen in the role of Man Singh, manager of the 1983 World Cup-winning cricket team.
Other cast members include YouTube sensation Sahil Khattar, Tamil actor Jiiva, Punjabi star Ammy Virk, and others. Ranveer Singh will be seen portraying the former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev and Nawazuddin Siddiqui might play the Indian coach.
The film is scheduled to release in April 2020.
