The Hindi adaptation of the popular novel The Girl on The Train has got a release date. The film that stars actor Parineeti Chopra in the lead role will hit the screens of cinema halls on 8 May next year. The 2015 novel that marked the debut of British author Paula Hawkins was first adapted on the big screen by American filmmaker Tate Taylor with the same name in 2016 with actor Emily Blunt in the lead.

Chopra who has been in the limelight for her upcoming Saina Nehwal’s biopic took to her social media account to make the announcement and called the film “the most thrilling ride” of her life. She also shared a number of stills revealing her look from the film.

The yet-to-be-titled film will see Chopra playing the role of an alcoholic divorcee who gets embroiled in a missing person’s investigation. While her expressions and her bruised and wounded look in the pictures definitely catch the attention, it remains to be seen how captivating her performance will be in the film.

Produced by Reliance Entertainment, the film will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta who recently directed web series Bard of Blood. Besides Chopra, the film also features actors Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, Vatsal Sheth, and Avinash Tiwary known for playing lead role in Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu.
