One of the most skilled actresses of Bollywood Tisca Chopra is ready to wear director’s hat for the first time. The actress who has already worked as a writer and producer for her Filmfare award-winning film ‘Chutney’ will make her directorial debut with her next film.
The debutante director is still working with the details of the script. Talking about her directorial debut she said, “I’ve had the good luck to learn from so many gifted directors, having watched them carefully on set. I hope I can make a good film that will stay with people after the lights come on. I am a huge fan of thrillers, so I wanted to start with that. It’s twisted, dark and bitingly funny.”
She recently finished shooting for Karan Johar’s production ‘Good News‘, in which she worked with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan. When asked about her experience of working on the film, Tisca says, “I’ve always admired Karan for his uncanny ability to find cool scripts and skilled directors. Raj Mehta, the director of the film, is super bright. And of course, it was a delight working with Akshay and Kareena.”
Her short film ‘Chutney’ won her Filmfare Award for Best Actress and the film itself won the award for Best Short Film. It was produced under her company, The Eastern Way and directed by Jyoti Kapur Das.
