Asus has finally unveiled ZenFone 8 series- Asus ZenFone 8 Flip and ZenFone 8. The flagship ZenFone 8 series is the successor to last year’s Asus ZenFone 7 series. Both the smartphones in ZenFone 8 Series are powered by Snapdragon 888 5G SoC and feature fast refresh rate AMOLED panels. Apart from this, smartphones feature an array of key differences.
Asus ZenFone 8 Flip Specifications
Asus ZenFone 8 Flip is powered by top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC, coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. The processor is backed by 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 11 OS with ZenUI 8 on top.
As far as the display is concerned, the device boasts a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ Samsung AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels resolution and a 90Hz fast refresh rate. The display has an aspect ratio 0f 20:9, a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 on top. It is an edge-to-edge display with neither punch-holes nor notches of any sort. An in-display fingerprint scanner is built into the display.
Coming to the cameras, ZenFone 8 Flip, as the name suggests, has retained the trademark flip-camera module of the ZenFone series. It is a triple-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor for ultra-wide-angle shots with an f/2.2 lens, and an 8MP telephoto sensor that comes with 3x optical zoom. The flip-camera module rotates 180-degrees and can be used as both rear and front cameras.
The mobile phone carries a 5,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology. It ships with dual stereo speakers tuned by Dirac HD Sound, along with OZO Audio Zoom and Asus’ noise reduction technology-powered triple-microphone setup. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6/ 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, NFC, FM radio, and a USB Type-C port for charging. It weighs 230 grams.
Asus ZenFone 8 Flip Price
ZenFone 8 Flip is offered in two color options- Galactic Black and Glacier Silver. It is priced at EUR 799 (Rs. 71,000) for the sole 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It is currently up for pre-orders in Europe and Taiwan. Availability in other markets is yet to be revealed by the company.

Considering the price range, it will compete with the OnePlus 9 Pro, which is powered by Snapdragon 888 5G SoC and features a 120Hz 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED display, a 48MP quad-camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging, priced at Rs. 69,999 for the 12GB RAM variant.

The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1,100 nits of peak brightness, HDR10+- rating and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It also features a punch-hole at the top-left corner for the front camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

It is priced at EUR 599 (Rs. 53,200) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs EUR 669 (Rs. 59,400), and the top-end 16GB RAM + 256GB storage option is priced at EUR 799 (Rs. 71,000). It is currently up for pre-orders in Europe and Taiwan. Availability in other regions of the globe is yet to be disclosed.
