Micromax recently said that they are partnering with fabless semiconductor company from Taiwan, MediaTek to start the designing and development of their upcoming ‘In’ series smartphones. Micromax already said that they would unveil the ‘In’ series smartphones on 3rd November.

The partnership would help Micromax to design and develop solutions for smartphones powered by the MediaTek Helio G Series with MediaTek HyperEngine game technology. Micromax stated that their R&D centre at Bengaluru will soon start the design and development of the smartphones. The collaboration aligns the efforts of Micromax for accelerating the hardware and software development of smartphones in India.

Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax said that their R&D in India will use the latest technology and advanced MediaTek Helio G Series chips that delivers premium performance and improved customer experiences. Development of software has been the strength for the ecosystem of India and they would leverage that strength in their software design. The partnership has happened at a time when Micromax is shifting to launch smartphones focusing on gaming and multimedia features.

Anku Jain, the Managing Director of MediaTek India said that their company is focussing to enable superior gaming capability with the range of G series chips. This year, they have launched MediaTek Helio G95, G85, G80, G70, G35 and G25 with MediaTek HyperEngine Game Technology that has an array of technologies which includes vivid visuals, rapid sensing touchscreens, premium picture quality, enhanced power efficiency and internet connectivity for long gameplay.
