OnePlus has launched the much anticipated OnePlus 9 series globally. The OnePlus 9 series consists of- OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9R. Along with the OnePlus 9 series, OnePlus has also released the OnePlus Watch with health features. OnePlus collaborated with Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset while the OnePlus 9R is powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC.

OnePlus 9 Specifications

The OnePlus 9 is powered by a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core chipset and Adreno 660 GPU, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device runs on Android 11 with OnePlus’ custom OxygenOS 11 on top.

OnePlus 9 Display

The smartphone boasts a 6.55-inch Full HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,440 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The front display has an aspect ratio of 20:9, HDR10+ support, a peak brightness of 1,100 nits, and is protected by 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. The display unit also carries the punch-hole for the front camera and the in-display fingerprint scanner.

As for the camera, the OnePlus 9 sports a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX689 primary sensor with EIS(Electronic Image Stabilization), a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for ultra-wide shots, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The rear camera unit also features a dual-LED flash. Upfront, a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with EIS is placed under the punch-hole.

The device carries a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support. The North America and Europe variants will also feature 15W Qi wireless charging. The device ships with dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. The phone also features an OnePlus Cool Play cooling system to manage the heating.

OnePlus 9 Color Options

The OnePlus is offered in three color variants- Winter Mist, Arctic Sky, and Astral Black. In India, the device is priced at Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant and the 12GB + 256GB storage model is priced at Rs. 54,999.

Considering the pricing, the smartphone will compete with fan-favorite ASUS ROG Phone 5, which is based on the same processor and offers gaming-specific features, which are absent in the OnePlus 9.

OnePlus 9 Pro Specifications

The OnePlus 9 Pro draws power from the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with Adreno 660 GPU, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device runs on OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11.

The mobile phone sports a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Fluid AMOLED 2.0 display with a resolution of 3,216 x 1,440 pixels and a smart 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also accompanied by LTPO(Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide), which enables to configure the refresh rate as per the usage, thereby reducing the battery consumption by 50%. The front display has an aspect ratio of 20.1:9, 360Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ support, a peak brightness of 1300nits, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

OnePlus 9 Pro Camera Layout

As far as the camera is concerned, the OnePlus 9 Pro features a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX789 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical image stabilization (OIS) and EIS support, a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle Freeform lens, an 8MP telephoto shooter, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. At the front, a 16MP sensor is placed under the punch-hole.

The device packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support. The phone also supports 50W wireless fast-charging. The device also ships with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

OnePlus 9 Pro Color Options

The smartphone will be offered in three color variants- Morning Mist, Forest Green, and Stellar Black. In India, the OnePlus 9 Pro is priced at Rs. 64,999 for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 69,999 for the 12GB + 256GB storage model.

OnePlus 9R Specifications

The OnePlus 9R features almost similar specifications as of OnePlus 9 with slight differences. The OnePlus 9R is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset with Adreno 650 GPU, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

OnePlus 9R

The device sports a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16MP Sony IMX481 sensor for ultra-wide shots with 123-degree field-of-view, a 5MP sensor for macro, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. It also features a 16MP sensor at the front for selfies and video calls. Unfortunately, there is no IP-rating for dust and water resistance.

OnePlus 9R Color Options

The device is offered in two color options- Lake Blue and Carbon Black. The OnePlus 9R is priced at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB storage model and Rs. 43,999 for the 12GB + 256GB storage model.

The device will compete with last year’s OnePlus 8T, powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset and almost similar features.

OnePlus Watch Specifications

The OnePlus Watch features a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 454×454 pixels and 2.5D curved glass protection. The smartwatch features 110 workout modes for fitness enthusiasts for calorie regulation and is capable of automatic workout detection. These features can be managed through the OnePlus Health App.

The smartwatch also has health-specific features like SpO2 monitoring, sleep detection, stress detection, and rapid heart rate alert. It can also be used to control music and calls and the OnePlus TV.

The smartwatch has Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, and IP68 certification for 5ATM water resistance.

The smartwatch packs a 405mAh battery with Warp charge fast-charging support. OnePlus claims that 20 minutes charge keeps the watch running for a week. The OnePlus Watch is priced at Rs. 16,999 in the Indian market.
