There were many rumors about Oppo A92s 5G. Finally, Oppo has come up with A92s 5G. The specifications, prices and release have been announced on their Chinese website. Let’s take a look over Oppo A92s.
Specifications:
Display:
Oppo A92s comes with 3 colors black, pink and white. The dimension of Oppo A92s as follows: 163.8mm in height, 75.5mm in width, 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 184g which is quite heavier. It has a display of 6.57 inches which is quite smaller than the recent release one plus 8 pro. The aspect ratio is 20:9 with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The phone also has a refresh rate of 120Hz which is also there in One plus 8 pro.
Performance:
Oppo A92s is powered by MediaTek MT6873V with 5G support. It runs with ColorOS 7.0 based on Android 10. The device has a 3890 mAh battery with 20W fast charging. It does not have wireless charging. It has two RAM and storage variants 6GB/8GB and 128GB storage for both RAM variants (UFS 2.1-Universal flash storage) respectively.
Camera:
The device comes with 4 camera sensors at the back. The camera setup makes us remember iPhone 11pro. The main camera has 48MP with an aperture size of 1.7. The main camera supports PDAF( Phase detect Autofocus). It supports 2160 p, 1080p and 720p video recording at 30fps. The main camera has gyro-EIS(electronic image stabilization) technology for video stabilization(NOTE: OIS is not there). The Ultra-wide lens has an 8MP camera with 2.2 aperture size. The macro lens comes with 2MP with 2.4 aperture size. The last lens is Depth Lens comes with 2MP and has an aperture size of 2.4. It also has an LED flash with features like HDR and Panorama.
The cameras also support features such as Autofocus, Geotagging, Panorama, HDR, Touch focus, Face detection, White balance settings, ISO settings, Exposure compensation, Self-timer, Scene mode, Macro mode, Phase detection autofocus.
The Oppo A92s removes the pop-up selfie camera and replaces it with a two punch-hole notch. It has a dual Front camera. The first camera comes with 16MP and has an aperture size of 2.0 which has a wide angle capture support and the secondary camera comes with 2MP and has an aperture size of 2.4. The secondary front camera is used for depth effect. The first camera can shoot video at 1080p with 30fps.
Sensors:
It supports a wide range of sensors such as Fingerprint Sensor, Accelerometer, Electronic Compass, Gyroscope, Proximity Sensor.
Price and release date:
The Oppo A92s is priced at CNY 2,199 for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at CNY 2,499.
Oppo A92s has not yet released the sale date in India. However, it is already available for pre-order in China and sale starts from April 29. In India the price is expected to be around 21,000 for 6GB RAM and 24,000 for 8GB RAM.
My thoughts:
They have given Sony IMX 586 sensors for the primary camera, that’s well and good. The ultra-wide camera could have been given more pixels because it has to capture a lot. They should have given at least 12MP for ultra-wide. Also, those Macro and depth lenses are just given for namesake(low megapixels). This is due to the recent trends, if more cameras are there means people will buy them. Actually, one should think before getting down to these gimmicks.
Apart from camera overall device looks good in terms of display and features. If the pricing of this device in India goes beyond 22,000 means one should think twice before buying this. At this price range we can find many other smartphones with better specifications. Moreover, this 5G technology will get implemented in India around 2022(By that time even better smartphones may come). Still, 2 years time is there. So, it is not a good idea to buy a smartphone, thinking that it supports 5G. Let’s wait and see what could be the pricing for this in India.
