Gotham Knights, the title for the next DC game from Batman: Arkham Origins developer WB Games Montréal.
Along with so many other new releases in the DC Fan Dom, the Canadian studio lifted the lid on Gotham Knights.
This is going to be the first game without Batman. Yes, without Batman. This game revolves around a city where Batman is dead.
The first Gotham Knights trailer confirmed the presence of Batgirl and the Court of Owls, as had previously been teased, alongside the inclusion of Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood as playable characters in addition to Batgirl.
Talking about villains, Mr.Freeze is one of the villains to feature.
One of the best parts of this game is that you can take on any mission either in single-player mode or a co-op mode.
Talking about the characters, each one of them has their special skill-set.
Batgirl is a skilled hacker and uses the melee tonfa; she’s trained in kickboxing, capoeira, and jiu-jitsu.
Red Hood is an anti-hero, as in the comics, owing to the fact he was resurrected. He’s the only one who uses guns.
If you are wondering which Robin is present in the game, it is Tim Drake. He’s described as an expert fighter with a collapsible quarterstaff and is skilled in stealth.
Nightwing was the first Robin and Batman’s protégé; he’s the eldest in the Batman family, is a master in acrobatics, and wields his signature dual Escrima Sticks.
Along with the trailer, DC has also release an 8-minute gameplay clip-on Youtube. the clip consists gameplay of a pre-alpha version.
WB Games are working on this age for more than two years now. Two and a half to be precise. There are two games on which they are working simultaneously. Well, fans have been waiting for this game since the WB games started dropping hints on the internet.
They also created a website named r3dakt3d.com especially for this game where they would reveal details about this game at a particular time. Fans somehow manage to go around the security aspect and found that batgirl is involved in this game.
When asked the developers about what are their thoughts on this,
Warner Bros. Games Montréal creative director Patrick Redding said. “We’re looking forward to fans playing and enjoying a lot of action as this new guard of strong DC Super Heroes in Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin, while solving an original mystery set against a living, breathing Gotham City.”
The release date has not been announced yet. It is going to release next year across all major platforms like PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Along with this game, DC has released trailers of 4 new upcoming films. Looks like a great 2021 for all the DC fans.
