PlayStation has given formal public statements about the new “Play at Home” initiative for gamers during the quarantine. Sony includes giving PlayStation 4 owners two free games. They are offering indie developers a fund to stay afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sony has designed funds of nearly 10 million USD to support their independent development partners.

Sony said in its announcement post. “We know this is just one small step and we are thankful to be able to offer this support to our players, our communities, and our partners.”

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection was previously a PlayStation Plus title offered for free at the beginning of the year. However, games downloaded through the “Play at Home” initiative will be playable permanently, without having to subscribe to or extend PlayStation Plus to gain access.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey will be available to download starting April 15 at 8 p.m. PDT through May 5.

In related gaming news, the latest Nintendo Switch update allows for remapped buttons and a newly implemented transfer function for SD cards.
