According to the party sources, Bhartiya Janta Party is ready to deploy its senior cabinet ministers and leaders across the country to spread awareness over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and National Register of Citizens. For this, a meeting of senior leaders was also convened at the party’s headquarters on Thursday.
The party meeting was convened under the leadership of BJP’s working president Jagat Prakash Nadda. Saffron party’s organizing secretary BL Santhosh and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar were also present at the meeting. It was reported that around 52 leaders of the party attended the event. In the meeting, literature regarding the CAA and NRC and its corresponding issues were also distributed among the leaders.
The booklet is titled “CAA an introduction“. It also contains the main points of the speeches made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue. The booklet also has Congress leader’s stand on the issue of CAA and NRC.
List of the leaders that will be deployed includes Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Culture, and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and others.
It has been reported that Anurag Thakur and Kiren Rijiju will be reaching out to the eminent personalities of various fields to explain the CAA law.
As per the sources, every BJP member has been asked to reach out to the common people. For making this task easy, the party has also prepared easy-to-understand videos, cartoon films and graphics. These materials have been designed to explain the CAA and NRC.
