Narendra Modi, the Indian prime minister has been ranked on 9th position in the annual list of Forbes which identifies the most powerful personalities across the globe. The list saw Russian President Vladimir Putin on top for fourth continuous year and the second position was secured by US President-elect Donald Trump.

In the list of 74 most powerful people, which indicates one person out of every 100 million in the world, Mukesh Ambani was the other personality from India to get featured. Mukesh Ambani was at 38th position.

Forbes stated Narendra Modi as a key figure in world’s battle against climate change and quoted that in last two and a half years as Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has been hugely popular among his countrymen and he has raised his popularity internationally with official relations with Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping etc. He remains a key figure internationally in the efforts to tackle the climate change as a lot of his countrymen will face the long-lasting consequences of global warming and climate change.

Out of other dignitaries who feature in the list, Angela Merkel took the third position whereas, Chinese president was spotted on 4th. Pop Francis (5th) Bill Gates (6th) and Mark Zuckerberg (10th) were the other influential figures on the list.

Satya Nadella, the India born CEO of Microsoft was on 51st position. Forbes termed him as a great strategies who took the company away from the failing mobile business to focus on other important and profitable verticals of business such as Augmented Reality and Cloud Computing.

The list also had Apple CEO Tim Cook (32) French President Francois Hollande (23) North Korea’s Kim Jong-un (43) and ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (57).
