Terror attacks took place at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station, Cama Hospital, Nariman House business and residential complex, Leopold Cafe, Taj Hotel and Tower and the Oberoi-Trident Hotel on 26th of November in 2008.
The Lashkar-E-Taiba terrorist Ajmal Kasab was caught alive by Tukaram Omble. Kasab, who was playing dead after being captured, fired gunshots on chest of assistant sub-inspector Tukaram Omble. Omble took the bullets but held on to the gun which led to the capture of the terrorist. The government awarded Omble a posthumous Ashoka Chakra later.

The then Anti-terror squad Chief Hemant Karkare was killed in action during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. He was martyred outside the Cama hospital in an ambush.

Ashok Kamate who was a part of the anti-terror operation was attacked by the terrorists outside Cama hospital. Kamate was called up from Chembur to Mumbai to be a part of the special anti-terror operation in Mumbai.

It’s been 11 years of the terror attack in Mumbai that claimed over 160 lives and injured over 300 people. The entire city had come to a standstill when 10 terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba group coordinated shootings and bombings, one after the other.
