TTV Dhinakaran

Clearing its stance on the ongoing controversy, AIADMK has sacked VK Sasikala’s nephew, Dhinakaran from all the posts he held in the party. Till now, Dhinakaran held the position of deputy general secretary in the party. AIADMK (Amma) called out a meeting earlier today chaired by the chief minister of Tamilnadu, Edappadi K Palanisamy.

The meeting passed a resolution to sack TTV Dhinakaran from the post of deputy general secretary and party membership. Along with sacking Dhinakaran, the party has also cancelled all the announcements and appointments made by Dhinakaran on accounts of creating confusion within the party.

The party order also stated that Sasikala was made the chief of AIADMK till there was no other announcement for the party chief. However, the resolution did not talk about the present status of Sasikala and that has resulted in increased confusion among the political pundits.

Panneerselvam faction of AIADMK has clearly asked the party to sack Sasikala from the party to continue with merger talks, however, there has not been an official confirmation of the same and we might get to see some more political drama in the coming days.

BJP has been pushing both the factions of AIADMK for a merger and there are speculations that the merged entity might announce its support to NDA for the coming general elections in 2019. Before this, AIADMK (both factions) extended their support to NDA’s candidates for presidential and vice-presidential elections, since then, the speculations have been rift that the party might go with BJP soon.
