AMMK leader Thanga Tamilselvan on Tuesday declared that the DMK government will have to support their party if they want to run the government.
While speaking to media persons at Theni, AMMK leader Thanga Tamil selvan said that the DMK will not be able to form the government unless it has AMMK’s help as AMMK will sweep all the seats in the local body elections.
“Haven’t we been saying all along there’s secret relationship between the two parties, that the AMMK is just the ‘B’ team of the DMK?” was the refrain in the AIADMK camp, with Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami declaring at his poll campaign that the ‘cat is out of the bag now’.
Responding to questions of the DMK winning seats without the AMMK’s support if the AIADMK loses, the AMMK leader said that ‘If the AIADMK is sent home, will the DMK not come to power?’ The AMMK leader shot back: “How will the DMK come to power after we win all the (22) seats?”
“We are going to win in 22(bye-poll seats). Only if DMK and us join together, we can send this regime home. If we send them home, then there will be elections. AMMK will win a majority in the elections and we will give Amma’s governance.” When asked if he thought that the DMK should support the AMMK to dismiss the Edappadi Palaniswami-led government, he said.
“They (the DMK) should give us their seats to dismiss the government. What else will they do? If they don’t give us the seats, it means they are scared. We will win 22 seats which means they (the government) won’t have a majority. A confidence vote has to be brought. They (the DMK) have to give us their support. If they don’t, then it means the DMK is scared of us.” he lashed out.
