Bhartiya Janta Party Leader Babulal Gaur on Thursday claimed that Congress has offered him to join Congress and ask him to contest Lok Sabha Polls 2019 from Bhopal parliamentary seats. He said Congress Stalwart and Former CM Digvijay Singh had visited him.
“He (Digvijay Singh) visited me and offered me to contest polls from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket. I told him I will think about it“, reported by ANI on the reports about Digvijay Singh offering him to join Babulal Gaur.

Development is seen as a big flutter for Bhartiya Janta Party, who had in December last year, lost to power in the state after 15 years. It also comes in the Backdrop after BJP reportedly revealed that party will field Candidates in the state based on the ‘winnability’ factor hinting toward many veterans might be ignored in ticket distribution in a run-up to the Lok Sabha Polls 2019.
Gaur, 88, had in past has maintained that he has no wish to retire from politics as of now.
According to sources, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce dates for the General elections in the first week of March. The elections are likely to be held in six to seven phases, the sources added. The election process has to be completed by May.
