The Bahujan Samaj Party on Monday issued a clarification stating that its Supremo Mayawati will not be holding any meetings with the leaders of Opposition in the national capital today ahead of the results of the mega polls.

The Statement from BSP came amidst reports that suggest that Mayawati may meet Opposition Leaders in New Delhi today ahead of the results.

Several media channels have reported that BSP Supremo Mayawati is likely to meet UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. Mayawati had on Saturday met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu, once an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party, is currently making efforts to bring all parties under an ambit against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the declaration of results on May 23.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav early in the day meet BSP Chief Mayawati’s residence in Lucknow.

It should be noted that almost all exit polls on Sunday predicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return in power.

Most of the exit polls predicted a clear Majority to Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with above 300 seats. Polls predicted party’s landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand among others.
