Christopher Wylie, who blew the lid on consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica in a shocking expose recently, has revealed that Congress party was one of the most important clients of the company in India.

Wylie, a former employee of Cambridge Analytica, said, “I believe their client was Congress, but I know they have done all kinds of projects regionally. I don’t remember a national project, I know regionally.”

Wylie made these statements in response to a query by UK’s Member of Parliament Paul Farrelly while deposing before the digital, culture, media and sports committee of the British Parliament in relation to his revelations about Cambridge Analytica that have caused massive political controversies in many nations.

He revealed that the company has a functional office in India along with many employees. He said he possesses certain documents to explain Analytica’s working in India, and that it has had some big clients like Congress.

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had made similar claims during a recent press conference when he had alleged that Congress had hired Cambridge Analytica to influence voters in India. The response of Congress party refuting these charges had sparked off a big war of words with BJP over the issue of unauthorized data leaks.
