The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday registered a fresh case against the Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and others in connection with the alleged irregularities in land allocation between 2009-2012.

The Investigation agency conducted raids at various locations of the former Chief Minister BS Hooda in Delhi and NCR including Chandigarh, Rohtak, Mohali.

Sources said A team of officials from the agency arrived early morning at Former CM’s residence in Rohtak, Haryana, they said. According to the officials, 20 locations in the Delhi-NCR region are part of the probe. However, the probing agency said nothing about the raid that is still underway reportedly.

BS Hooda has been charged under various sections of the IPC in connection with cases of land acquisition between 2009 and 2012. IAS Officer TC Gupta, the then Chief Administrator, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) the then Director of Urban Estate, Town and Country Planning, Haryana and other officials including 15 private individuals have also been charged under the same sections.

It is alleged that there were massive irregularities in the acquisition of 1417 acres of land by the then Hooda led Haryana Government in 2009.

While dubbing it as a Political Vendetta, BS Hooda, said ‘This is a result of political vendetta. I will fight this battle myself. I have complete faith in the judiciary. No one can silence my voice’

Congress on the same tone racked up Bhartiya Janta Party for misusing the probing agency. Congress MLA Kuldeep Sharma said this is done with an intention to stop the Party to contest by-polls Jind slated for Jan 28.

The Jind by-election is going to take place and today, a poll rally was organised. It (CBI raid) was to happen and it was carried out with an intention of political ill will in order to influence the by-election,” Sharma said while talking to reporters in Rohtak.

Congress has field Jat Leader and Communication Cell in-charge Randeep Surjewala to contest Haryana By-elections from Jind assembly seat. The voting in the seat is slated for January 28 and the result will be announced on January 31 reads a notification issued by Poll body on December 31st. BJP has fielded Krishan Middha – the son of late INLD Leader Hari Chand Middha to take up the electoral fight.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of sitting INLD MLA Hari Chand Middha in August last year.
