Several Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party Lawmakers on Tuesday staged a protest against the Yogi Adiyanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh state legislative assembly. Slogans were raised against the Governor and the Chief Minister on the very first day of the Budget session of Uttar Pradesh Assembly in Lucknow. Opposition Parties hurled papers towards Podium as Governor Ram Naik was in the house to address the joint sitting of both the Houses.

As soon as Governor started his address, Opposition Leaders started shouting slogans against the government and ‘Governor wapas jao’  [Governor Go back].

However, Amid the din, the governor kept reading out his speech, which highlights various welfare and development schemes, besides achievements of the Uttar Pradesh government. The annual budget will be presented on February 7 by Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal. The Budget Session in the UP is slated to conclude on February 22. The house will discuss the Governor’s address on February 6- 8 and on February 11.

Speaking on the Uttar Pradesh Assembly ruckus said, ‘The way slogans were raised against the Governor & SP members threw paper balls at him is condemnable. We criticize how SP & BSP members behaved in front of the Governor. Now you can imagine what kind of system these people want’.

He added, “Members of the Samajwadi Party have done ‘Gundagardi’ inside the house. They have thrown paper balls at the Governor while he was addressing the House.
The SP is a party of goons and its members have still not given up their earlier behavior, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
