Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh turned 87 today. Leaders from all over the nation are wishing the Congress leader over this auspicious day. Twitter is being flooded with heartful messages greeting the leader for his birthday wishes.

Dr. Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932, in Gah village of Punjab. He had served as the Prime Minister of India for the two consecutive terms (2004 to 2014). The leader had also served as the Finance Minister during VP Singh government and played an instrumental role during the Economic crisis of 1991.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wishes the leader through his Twitter handle.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also wished Manmohan Singh and praised for his “selfless service” to the nation. He tweeted, “On his birthday, let us acknowledge Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji’s selfless service, dedication and incredible contribution to the cause of nation-building. My best wishes to him on his birthday. I pray for his good health and happiness in the years to come.”

Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram also expressed his grateful wishes and posted a message for the leader “I have asked my family to tweet on my behalf the following: Happy birthday to Dr. Manmohan Singh. May he live for a 100 years and more!

The leader also advised the government to pay heed to the Manmohan’s advice on the matter of economic slowdown.

Former JD(U) president Sharad Yadav also wished the former prime minister on his birthday.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also wished the leader on this grateful occasion.
