Owing to a massive success of the “Mo Sarkar” initiative; Odisha government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to expand the program to all departments by March 2020.

Mo Sarkar” translates to ‘My Government‘ in Odia language. It is a citizen empowerment program based on 5T philosophyTransparency, teamwork, technology and time lead to transformation. The program was launched by Naveen Patnaik on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) this year. Under the initiative, the chief minister and other ministers have to engage with common citizens to get their feedback on their experiences of visiting any government facilities. The scheme is mainly focused on achieving the hallmarks of good governance.

The program was earlier launched in two departments- the Health department and the Police department. Now, in the second phase, it will be extended to cover five departments and in the third phase, all departments of the State Government will be made to comply with the program. Naveen Patnaik expressed his satisfaction with the program’s success and said that people want the extension of this program.

As quoted by ANI, he said, “When talking to people, popular feedback I am getting is to continue “Mo Sarkar” and to expand to other departments”. Let me assure the people of Odisha – Mo Sarkar as an empowerment initiative and it will be further strengthened, it will be expanded to five more departments by December 1 and by March 5, 2020 ‘Mo Sarkar’ will cover all the department of the government.”

The BJD leader also extended the financial and technical support to the government hospital in six disrict regions on the basis of feedback received from patients. These six districts are Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Nayagarh, Rayagada, and Nuapada.
