With just days ahead of national elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Friday gave his first interview of the year 2019 to the Television News Channel Republic TV. In an hour-long interview to the TV channel, talked about several issues ranging from the launch of Mission Shakti to Pulwama, Balakot Air Strikes.
Responding to accusations of violating poll code made by the Opposition regarding his address to the nation, PM Modi said, ‘If Model Code of Conduct is imposed, does that mean the Central Government should stop working?’. ‘Should the government not respond to critical issues because of elections’ PM Modi said while dismissing the allegations made by the Opposition parties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi talking about the Pulwama Terror Attack and Balakot Air Strikes asserted the need for strong and stable government at the Centre. He said he was fully involved in Balakot Air strikes, however, denied of involving in the planning that of the strikes.

Slamming Opposition for politicizing the Opposition in the aftermath of Pulwama and Balakot, PM Modi said Opposition if have any substantial thing in this regard show go to the people in the Lok Sabha Polls 2019 with the ‘concrete evidence’.
He also challenged Opposition to have debates on crucial issues including – Employment, his flagship programmes like – Ujjawala Scheme, Dhan Jan Yojana, and beneficiary Schemes.
Speaking about his contact with Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, PM Modi said ‘Pakistan has always assured to take action against Terrorism, but do nothing. So I’ve stopped responding to their assurances. We have given complete evidence, dossiers, but there was no response from their end’.

Responding about ‘Chowkidaar Chor Hai’ jibe and his counter-campaign of ‘Main Bhi Chowkidaar Campaign’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, being the longest-serving CM of Gujarat, I have never raised these issues about Chaiwala and Chowkidar. however, in a run-up to the general elections 2014, I used the word Chowkidar that suggests the spirit to ensure safety and security of the country.
PM Modi in his interview hailed his government’s strict action that made bankrupt to flee to foreigns facing financial irregularities cases. He said while referring to bankrupts like Nirav Modi and Vijaya Mallya, ‘we have come down severely on their assets’.
Speaking about Robert Vadra facing Enforcement Directorate grilling, the government has taken a legal route instead of political and the investigation is underway.

Taking a swipe jibe at Congress, PM Modi said Congress has used Defence Deals as just ATM.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the interview also took a jibe at Mahagathbandan, Is there any Grand Alliance in Odisha, Bengal, and Kerela, he asked. The people of India has already make-up their minds for the Lok Sabha Polls. He said we will come back to power with Full majority with both NDA and BJP performing better than 2014 General Elections.
He added he wants to work with all the political parties together after the Lok Sabha Polls 2019.
While again asserting to have full majority government after 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, he said people have suffered for past 30 years but have enjoyed in last 5 years of NDA rule. People want a full majority government.

Commenting on the Dynasty politics, There are many political parties which are controlled by a single family. He said It is not my personnal problem, but dynastic politics is a major threat to India’s democracy.
Responding to the accusations of Destroying Central Institutions, PM said all this are orchestrated by the oppostion as they have nothing to say now. They just need anything to attack me. Should I question as to who ordered for the Emergency? Who jailed political leaders? he said.
Speaking about the unemployment, PM Modi said the same agenda was run by the Opposition during Atal ji Government, But later it was revealed that the government has generated 6 crore jobs against 1crores by Congress Government.
Commenting about Congress pre-poll promise of providing annual financial support through NYAY Scheme, PM Modi said one should see their track record. He said, ‘Nehru ji spoke about poverty, so did Rajiv ji, and then Sonia Gandhi followed suit and now even Rahul Gandhi, the fifth generation from their family is doing the same’.
Commenting on the accusation of benefitting Anil Ambani through Rafale, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said ‘I have distributed crores of gas connections to common people, how can it help Ambani. We have given 2.5 crore electricity connections, made 9 crores toilets, 1.5 crore houses, are all these things done for Ambani’s and Big businessmen.
Prime Minister in a run-up to the General Elections 2019 is slated to address three rallies in three states today.
Bhartiya Janta Party has so far declared candidates on over 300 Lok Sabha Seats.
