Actor-turned-politician Prakash Raj who is contesting as an Independent Candidate from Bengaluru Central on Wednesday on the eve of the national elections 2019 attacked Congress for spreading ‘fake’ post claiming that the actor has joined Congress and announced his support to the party.

Actor-turned-Politician Raj took to Twitter and slammed Congress sharing his video. He said, ‘ FAKE NEWS by CONGRESS.. look at the dirty politics of this party. SHAME ON CONGRESS… HAVE SENT THE COMPLAINT TO ELECTION COMMISSION WITH PROOF ..please spread and share to counter DIRTY POLITICS’

Prakash Raj filed a complaint with Election Commission against Mazhar for spreading fake news through a picture that Raj joined Congress; says, “there was a candidate debate where I met Congress candidate Rizwan & shook hands with him”.

Talking to news wire ANI, Raj said, ‘Congress made a photograph of it (Actor shaking hands with Congress candidate), sent it on WhatsApp groups & said it’s confirmed that Prakash Raj has joined Congress so you don’t have to waste your vote on him. It was done by Mazhar Ahmed who claims to be Rizwan’s PA’.

Prakash Raj as an Independent Candidate is taking on Bharatiya Janata Party’s outgoing MP PC Mohan, and Congress Rizwan Arshad. While Aam Aadmi Party has already announced its support to Prakash Raj.

Responding to the allegations, Congress Candidate Rizwan Arshad responded and said not to fall in rumours. Arsahd took to Twitter and said, ‘Apparently, some fake news is being circulated about Prakash raj’s association with me. Request ppl (people) not to fall for such rumours. I hv (have) fought this election on the agenda of development & I hv (have) people’s blessing with me. is an independent candidate & I wish him luck.

The Bengaluru born actor has been vocal about his views on the current BJP-led government at the Centre. The actor is the latest celebrity to join politics from the south after veterans Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

General Elections have already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

Bengaluru Central including 14 seats of Karnataka is voting today to elect a new Parliamentarian.
