Actor-turned-politician and now BJP’s Gurdaspur MP Sunny Deol came under intense attack from the opposition after he appointed a Mohali-based screenwriter, Gurpreet Singh Palheri, as his representative for Gurdaspur Lok Sabha Seat.

Voters never expected anything from him other than a selfie with him’.

While Sunny Deol’s nominee Gurpreet Singh, who is also known as ‘Gyani Ji’ in film industry circles, said that he been appointed just for assisting Sunny Deol in her electoral work. Speaking to media, he said, ‘I am not replacing Sunny Deol. I have just joined just like a personal assistant of Sunny Deol and will look after his work in the constituency’.

He added, In the absence of Sunny Deol, I along with other BJP leaders, will sit in the official meetings’.

Singh further asserted that he has been living in Pathankot since Sunny Deol won the election and have been going in the field every day.

He further claimed that Sunny Deol is working in Delhi and is participating in the Lok Sabha Sessions pushing for the welfare of Gurdaspur. He added, ‘You will soon hear good news related to the development of Gurdaspur.”
