Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar holding the image of Mr. Clean and following the principle of zero tolerance against corruption is a no saint himself says former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.
RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav‘s son Tejashwi Yadav who lost his post and the party lost its alliance with ruling JD(U) in Bihar on grounds of corruption charges against them. He on Sunday while addressing a rally in Bhagalpur to launch the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) campaign against the Srijan scam alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with Deputy CM Sushil Modi are involved in the Rs 2,000-crore Srijan scam in Bhagalpur and other districts of the state. He also accused many BJP members to be involved in the scam.
Tejashwi said that “Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi are responsible for the Srijan scam. The state government led by them is busy eliminating evidence and trying to divert the issue to save their skin.” He further added that Nitish Kumar broke the grand alliance and the faith of the mandate supporting him for his personal needs. “But we will not sit silent and have decided to intensify the agitation to expose their involvement in the scam before 11 crore people of Bihar,” the RJD leader said.
He also alleged that Sushil Modi and his family members are also involved in the Srijan Scam.
Calling Nitish Kumar as a “Bhishma Pitamah” of moral corruption for breaking the grand alliance with RJD-Congress and joining hands and forming the new government in alliance with BJP. He said that in the wake of corruption charges against the RJD chief and his family members Nitish playing a political move broke the grand alliance but the main motive behind the step was to join hands with BJP and hide behind them to escape from the Srijan Scam. Nitish Kumar’s politics is full of misdeeds he added.
He also accused the Bihar Chief Minister to be the biggest socially corrupt leader in the country. Attacking the BJP Party Tejashwi said that the Srijan Scam in Bihar is bigger than the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh and both the scams took place under the rule of the BJP government in both the states.
Just like the JD(U) and BJP had done for RJD, Tejashwi has also demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the scam, for which the Chief Minister also recommended and the agency has begun with its investigation.
The Srijan scam involves a Bhagalpur based NGO, Srijan Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti Ltd, which used to provide vocational training to women. The organisation allegedly used the money personally provided for the welfare of the people. So far 20 people have been arrested related to the scam and more than 24 FIR’s have been filed in connection with the scam including 10 FIR’s by CBI.
while addressing the rally Tejashwi Yadav also accused a few BJP members to be involved in the same. He said that “senior BJP leaders including Union Minister Griraj Singh, former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain, and party MP Nishikant Dubey were involved in the scam and they have looted government money.
