Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will be chairing a state cabinet meeting which is slated for June 18 in State’s Capital Hyderabad, stated a government notification on Friday.

The cabinet meeting slated for Tuesday, June 18, will be held in the afternoon at 2 PM at Pragathi Bhawan in Hyderabad.

The State Cabinet meeting is expected to discuss many issues including the KCR’s new proposed legislation for municipal, and the inauguration of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project scheduled for June 21.

Party Sources claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will likely to skip NITI Aayog Council Meeting slated for Saturday. However, there are no official words from the state government on the issue.

Chandrashekar Rao on Friday visited Mumbai and met his Maharashtra Counterpart Devendra Fadnavis. KCR invited Fadnavis for the inauguration event of Kaleshwaram event slated for June 21. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis will be the Chief Guest in the inauguration ceremony.

TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao on June 19 will also chair a state executive meeting and likely to discuss the poll outcome. TRS had on Thursday held its Party Parliamentary meeting on Thursday to elect Party Leader for Both houses and to chalk out the strategy for the Parliament Session.

In recently concluded national polls, TRS 9 bagged Lok Sabha Seats, while BJP and Congress bag 4 and 3 seats respectively. AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi retains Hyderabad Lok Sabha Seat with over 2.5 Lakh votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s victory on 4 Lok Sabha Seats has surprised many because the saffron party could only win a single seat in Telangana State polls held in December last year.

Despite TRS bagging 9 seats in Telangana, its heavyweight leader K. Kavitha, the daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao lost to BJP leader Arvind Dharmapuri by a margin of 71,057 votes from Nizamabad Lok Sabha Seat. This is seen as a big setback for the party in the state where they were expected the make a clean sweep.
