Telegram has brought a large number of features in its new update. The update includes Search Filters, Anonymous Admins and Channel Comments. Search Filters would help users if they get lost in the app, Anonymous Admins would make the battle for freedom more safe and people will be able to voice their opinions in Channel Comments.
A blog post says that from now onwards, users can filter search results by typing through the new tabs that includes Media, Links, Files and others. Users have to type the date and a filter will get added by the source after typing the name of any person, group, channel or bot.
Anonymous Group Admins is a tool for more safe protests. Users can toggle the Remain Anonymous at Admin Rights which will enable Batman mode. The anonymised admin would get hidden in the list of group members and the messages in the chat would be signed with the group name, same like the channel posts.
A comment button has also been added at the posts on channels with discussion groups. A blog post says that comments will appear in a cozy little thread of their own and also land at the discussion group for keeping everyone in the loop. This will make it easy for admins for keeping the conversation civil.
If a person is not a part of the channel’s discussion group, they will receive notifications regarding replies to their comments through a new chat called Replies. Other new features include the option to switch between day and night themes from the left menu. Animated pop-ups will be shown when users delete messages, change notifications or save media.
Users can press and hold on any profile picture while being in a group chat to get a closer look. If they use multiple accounts in one app, they can preview chat lists of other accounts by using the same gesture at the account switcher. Animated emojis have also been included that can be sent with messages.
