Six Indian hockey players have tested positive for COVID-19 so far. All of them moved to a multi-speciality hospital as a precautionary measure.

Mandeep Singh was hospitalised on Monday night. His oxygen level had dropped below normal. This led to the others being hospitalised too as a precautionary measure. The remaining five were shifted to the hospital late on August 11.

The other five, Captain Manpreet Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Surender Kumar, Varun Kumar and Krishnan B Pathak, were in quarantine at the Sports Authority of India Centre in Bengaluru. Hockey camps from August 19

Meanwhile, the SAI has decided to go forward with both the men’s and women’s hockey camps from August 19.

The players had assembled on August 4 after a 45-day break. Prior to that, they were stuck in Bengaluru for more than 100 days without any training due to the lockdown.
