Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli

According to the administrative manager, Kapil Malhotra’s report, Indian skipper Virat Kohli is not involved in any type of rude behaviour with the former Indian coach, Anil Kumble. Kumble had recently left the post of India’s head coach due to the differences between him and Kohli. Leading to this, BCCI instructed Kapil Malhotra to report any controversial incident between the two when the team was in London.

However, no such incident was found in Malhotra’s report. According to a BCCI source, “Kapil Malhotra has submitted his report. At least there is nothing in the report which suggests that skipper Virat Kohli was ever rude to the coach or mention of any incident which could be termed as a breach of discipline.”

When asked about no interaction between Kumble and Kohli, the source said, “He was specifically asked to mention any incident worth reporting which may have affected the dressing room environment or morale of the team. Nothing of that sort is there in the report.”

Currently, Kapil Malhotra is with the team in West Indies and it may be his last assignment as BCCI is looking for a permanent manager. Regarding the new coach, the interview will be held in Mumbai on July 10.

High-profile names in the list are Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag and Tom Moody. Richard Pybus, Venkatesh Prasad, Dodda Ganesh are other names who have applied for the post.
