Rohan Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski

In a hard fought match against Finnish-British pair of Henri Kontinen and Heather Watson, the Indo-Canadian duo Rohan Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski were unable to grab victory and got defeated  7-6(4) 4-6 5-7. The match went on to for two hours and in the end resulted in the omission of Bopanna and Gabriela from the quarter-final in the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon. With this loss, there is now no Indian left to compete in the tournament. Recently, the Indo-Canadian duo won the French Open mixed doubles and surely would have thought to continue the form in the current league also.

Starting well, Bopanna and Gabriela won their first set 7-4 taking the initial lead. The unseeded though under pressure fought hard to win the second set 6-4 and levelled the scores. The tenth seeded Indo-Canadian pair in the third set made deliberate errors at crucial moments just to end up losing. Kontinen and Watson have now reached the semi-finals and will now play against the second-seeded pair of Bruno Soares and Elena Vesnina for their ticket to finals.
