Indian pace bowler, Mohammed Shami was involved in a fight with three local youngsters on Saturday. The three youths also tried to break into Shami’s house and attacked his apartment’s caretaker. The following day, Shami filed a police report and the three were arrested by the local police and presented at the Alipore Court on Monday.
According to police, “Yes we have received a complaint from Mr Mohammed Shami’s family. Immediate action was taken against the accused. Based on the CCTV footage we were able to arrest the biker and his gang on Sunday morning.”
Shami’s neighbours also stood in support of him and said that he has never been involved in such fights and has no celebrity attitude. “He has been living here for a long time now. We never had any problems with him or his family. In fact, he does not behave like a celebrity at all. We often find him in front of the local chat centre. His daughter plays around in the park. So it is hard to believe something like this would happen to them,” said a source close to Shami.
Shami has been included in the Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour. Team India is scheduled to play 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and one T20I against the hosts
