Mumbai-based online entertainment ticketing platform BookMyShow has joined Grab Ventures Velocity program, in order to expand its business in the Southeast Asian region, including Indonesia.
Grab Ventures Velocity is a 16-week programme that helps growth stage technology companies to scale up faster by providing access to assets, resources, capabilities, and networks of Grab and its programme partners.
Grab Ventures is an accelerator and investment unit of Grab, the Singapore-based ride-hailing startup.
Throughout the programme, BookMyShow’s offerings will be featured within the Grab homepage feed, thus allowing users to browse and books services on the Grab app. This will give BookMyShow access to Grab’s customers and deeper access to the Indonesia market as well.

BookMyShow was launched in Indonesia in 2016. It is the only Indian startup to be a part of the Grab Ventures Velocity program.
Apart from Indonesia, BookMyShow has a presence across Sri Lanka and UAE. In India, BookMyShow competes with Paytm, which entered the online ticketing domain.
Earlier in July 2018, BookMyShow raised $100 million in a series D funding round led by TPG Growth.
