Clensta International was founded by IIM Calcutta alumnus Dr Puneet Gupta, along with IIT Delhi’s chemistry faculty Anurag S. Rathore, in association with IIT Delhi, in 2016. The biotech startup aims to make personal hygiene quick and accessible to everyone, through innovative healthcare solutions.

The startup offers a number of waterless personal hygiene products like Waterless Shampoo and Waterless Body Bath, these products free of alcohol, SLS, and other harmful ingredients, to provide a complete bathing solution without using water.

Talking about the investment, Dr Puneet Gupta, Founder & CEO said, “We endeavour to bring science and technology to introduce advanced personal hygiene products which can improve existing standards of Personal Hygiene and hence address a huge unaddressed market of close to 11000 Crore. We are honoured that IAN has recognised the potential of our brand and has invested their interest and expertise to help us strengthen our roots in the industry.”

Indian waterless personal hygiene market is estimated to be worth around ₹11,000 crore. With the unavailability of water and priority of personal hygiene, the startup has the potential to become a market leader, with utility across sectors like healthcare, old age people, defence soldier, tourism, and space industry.

The products are already live on Government E-Marketplace (GeM), being supplied both to government and private hospitals and have also been considered to be patronised for Indian Defence and Paramilitary Forces.

Clensta previously raised an undisclosed amount of funds in a round led by Mr Sanjeev Jain, an IIT Delhi Alumni, a Businessman and a seasoned Angel Investor.
