According to a positive news coming for Goa based IT startups, Government is planning to support and promote the startup ecosystem in India, so that more IT companies can take part in this startup policy and carry forward the IT business. The main motive behind this policy is to create five thousand new jobs in the IT sector, in the coming five years. In future, this draft can also help Goa to hold a certain position on the global startup market.

Rohan Khaunte, Goa’s IT Minister commented that “We want to promote the concept of IT anywhere. This policy is for everybody who wants to set up anywhere in Goa. The vision is to develop and to promote IT sector in Goa, The startup policy is part of the IT Policy. There will be another policy released in a few months that will be for new and existing IT companies that want to set up or expand in Goa”

This policy includes setting up of the art of innovation and incubation centres in the coming years. Government has also appointed few mentors and professionals so that startup companies can easily consult them. The Goa Startup Policy aims to do for the startups what the other states have achieved so far. Other states like Haryana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have promoted startups and created jobs for many unemployed people and allocated funds for such policies.

This news comes at a time when many other states in India are focusing on building the startup ecosystem to ride on the exceptional growth this sector has shown in recent times. States like Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab etc have been investing considerable efforts to support the aspiring entrepreneurs in their region.
