Log 9 Materials, a cleantech startup has got funding in series A round of around $3.5 million (approx INR 25.22 crore) from Sequoia Capital India‘s Surge and Exfinity Venture Partners, reported Inc42.

With the use of freshly infused funds, the Bengaluru-based startup Log 9 Materials will upgrade its product development, and commercial and industrial deployment of aluminium fuel cell.

“The ultimate objective is to transition towards an aluminium-based cleaner energy economy that will shift our dependence from crude oil and fossil fuels for energy generation and storage,” said Akshay Singhal, founder at Log 9 Materials.

Log 9 Materials was started and founded by Akshay Singhal in 2015. The platform Log 9 Singhal aims on graphene Nanotechnology for B2B and B2C clients.

As per its website, Log 9 Materials is working on technology for both stationary and automotive applications such as electric vehicles (EVs). The company also looks to launch the product in the coming 18 months for domestic and international markets.

Anandamoy Roychowdhary, director of technology at Sequoia Capital India, said, “Their tech can help us harness aluminium and will result in a 100% recyclable energy future that is safe, free of distribution calamities risk and generates zero waste – and hence fully sustainable.”

Besides Log 9 Materials, other startups, working under the similar roof include Adnano Technologies, Nilima Nanotechnologies, Nopo, among others.
