Amazon India launches a complete set of Amazon Echo smart speakers in India. As Indian market is not yet crowded with the smart speakers, it’s the best time to Amazon to capture the un-adulterated smart speaker market.
Amazon India officially lists all the three smartphone speakers, priced at the different price points. The cheapest of the lot is the Amazon Echo dot, which is priced at INR 4,499 and as an introductory offer, one can claim this for just INR 3,149. Next, the Amazon Echo, which is priced at INR 9,999 but available for INR 6,999 for a short period of time. Finally, the Amazon Echo Plus, which offers top of the line specifications and priced at INR 14,999 and available for INR 10,499 for a short period of time.
There is a small flourish in the tale if you want to buy either of these Alexa powered smart speakers, then, one has to request for an invite from Amazon (due to small inventory). So, after receiving the invite, you are entitled to pay the following sum, which also includes the complimentary Amazon prime membership for 12 months. This membership is only applicable for those, who don’t own a membership, so, if you are already an Amazon Prime Member, then your remaining months will be upgraded to 12 months plan.
Now, let us look at these following Amazon Echo smart speakers powered by Alexa.
It’s a voice-controlled Bluetooth speaker with Amazon Alexa search engine under the hood. The device measures 3.3-inch on the horizontally, and 1.3-inch vertically. It can also be used with older audio players, which offers 3.5 mm headphone jack. The device must be paired with an Android or iOS smartphone using Alexa App to use the voice search features of searching for a product in Amazon, setting alarm, playing music etc. The device features a non-user replaceable battery which requires a constant power supply. The device also enables to enjoy free exclusive Amazon Play music, which is not yet available in India.
Amazon Echo:
If you are looking for a complete Echo experience, then, go with the Amazon Echo. Due to larger form factor, it houses a larger battery, bigger speakers and more aesthetically pleasing form factor, then goes for the Amazon Echo. The standard Echo houses a 2.5-inch whooper with the 0.5-inch tweeter, which should be sufficient to provide ample amount of sound for a medium-sized room. All the above-mentioned features are also present in the Echo Dot are also present on the standard Echo.
Amazon Echo Plus:
If you are interested in setting up the Amazon Echo in more than one location, then go with the Echo Plus. The Echo Plus offers 2.5-inch woofer, 0.8-inch tweeter and ability to pair all Echo speakers under one roof (has to connect to the same WiFi). If you are mainly focused on the multimedia user experience.
