Facebook, which has billions of people logging every month, still makes all efforts to increase the number of users by different means. People who log out often, but haven’t completely quit Facebook, do get frequent messages from Facebook to get back to the social media.

This is either via email or text messages. Facebook also prompts it’s users to post pictures or status. This is seen on opening the app, they either show an anniversary photo, or the number of years you have been friends with and prompt to post these on feed. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, said recently that is was thinking on changing the format of the news feed in the feeds of the user. And he said that more emphasis will be given to the feeds related to family and friends. The company is working on making meaningful interactions. He said maybe making changes in decreasing the amount of fake news in the feed can decrease the time spent by the users on this social media website.

“You could argue that the actions they announced were in response to what they were observing,” said Brian Wieser, an analyst. “Given how big they are, you’re going to run into a wall at some point.” Facebook has brought in the annual reports of its finance as annual revenue to $40.3 billion. This shows that there isn’t much change in their annual revenue after the changes that were made. Facebook is seriously generating its revenues from Instagram, Whatsapp, and Messenger.

But still Facebook is searching ways to increase its users to bring about more activities in Facebook. There could many reasons notifications are sent from the company. “We’re always looking for ways to help people access their accounts more quickly and easily, especially when there are notifications from friends they may have missed,” spokeswoman Lisa Stratton said. Security emails are “not a re-engagement tactic,”the company said.
