As the entire smartphone market is moving towards the dual camera and edge-less display race, Gionee, the one of the major Chinese smartphone brand is all set to debut into the narrow bezel territory.

A recently spotted advertisement piece does confirm the existence of the device. Allegedly, the device will be called as Gionee M7. According to the poster, the device is speculated to offer a narrow bezel display with dual rear camera setup as well.

The Gionee M7 will be powered by MT6757CD Octa-core MTK SoC, paired with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated SD card slot. The device is also touted to offer dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability as well. The other connectivity options like Bluetooth, WiFi and WiFi hotspot can also be expected from the Gionee M7.

The rear dual-camera implementation is something that we have to look forward. Will Gionee offer a RGB + monochrome setup or RGB + RGB setup or RGB + telephoto setup? As the device is expected to be mid-range, it looks like most of the mid-range smartphones, the device might offer RGB + monochrome setup, as it is the cheapest dual camera solution. As Gionee smartphones are known for its selfie camera capabilities, the device is expected to feature selfie centric front facing camera (at least 13 MP) paired with single tone LED flash.

It looks like, the company might collaborate with OFO, a bike rental startup located in Beijing. In terms of display, the device will offer 6-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top. The device is likely to feature 4000 mAh or higher capacity battery with fast charging and reverse charging capability. In terms of operating system, the device is expected to run on Android Nougat with custom UI on the top.
