The COVID-19 virus is spreading enormously all over the world. Government officials and health authorities are trying to find new methods to stop the growth of this virus, as the manual collection of patient’s travel history takes a lot of time. The government has planned to find a patient’s travel history using technology which could reduce time. The government invited many tech analysts and manufacturers to submit their 21 types of tech solutions. Along with other medical equipment, before Friday. These devices include wristbands and identity cards with GPS to monitor the movements of patients of COVID-19. Such devices analyze and help to identify a patient’s travel history.

Government’s plan

According to government officials, before April 17 there is an aim to create a list of 30 manufacturers. These manufacturers develop devices that can track patient’s movements. Therefore, these devices also help medical authorities to analyze the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Several people say that this is the first time the government is taking the help of a tech support PSU(Public Sector Undertakings) to step up its medical supplies. Many states have raised concerns that frontline workers have the shortage of protective gears. These include sanitization and disinfection chambers, personal protective coverall (garments) along with shoe cover, masks, etc.

David Polgrab’s views on smartphone tracking

Technology ethicist David Polgarb previously told about potential smartphone tracking. “The better use of our digital tools would be to help assist those with potential symptoms of COVID-19 to get a reliable test, which then allows the Countries to have a better picture of the current outbreak”.

As COVID-19 is spreading enormously it is important to take necessary steps. Technology will always be there for the welfare of mankind. We have to use it the best and support government and health authorities during this panic outbreak of COVID-19.
