We all know that Apple is incorporating much-requested feature on to their upcoming Apple iPhone AKA iPhone 8. However, there is a catch for both developers and users. Just like most of the Apple 3rd party accessories, the manufacturer has to procure the license from Apple under MfI programme.

The current generation Qi v 1.2 offers fast charging capabilities up to 15W. However, Apple’s patented technology will be only offering with 7.5W, which makes sure that the consumers cannot use already existing Qi pads with their iPhone.

The accessory will not be included in the retail package, instead, one has to shell out extra $50 to purchase the same. This is not the first time that Apple has done something like this, in fact, the lightning port is also followed by similar license principles.

In the majority of the European countries, restaurants and coffee shops have started deploying wireless charging pads (aircharge) has to redesign their already existing chargers to make work with them. What do you think about the Apples decision to go with their own technology instead of already existing one? Though it may safe to say that, Apple cares about its consumers and their devices, but isn’t it like to monotonous in the market? Lets us know your views in the comment section.
