Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 getting Android Oreo update

UK owners of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 can now find the latest version of Android rolling out on their tablets. Along with it come all the goodies you expect from Oreo such as system-level PIP support, Autofill API, notification snooze and channels, and more.

The build number for the upgrade is T820XXU1BRE2 and is available by an Over-the-Air (OTA) update.The update is available for both the Wi-Fi only and LTE variants of the slate.

EMUI 8.0 brings a series of incredible features such as quick shortcut menus, usage-based performance optimization and simplified phone settings that greatly enhance the functionality.

  • Updated Setting menu and Phone Manager 
  • Photo gallery recycle bin 
  • Seamless LinkedIn integration

EMUI 8.0 first debuted on Huawei’s Mate 10, which touted AI features that complement the Kirin 970’s Neural Processing Unit.

To check if the update is ready for your slate you’ll want to head to Settings and then Software Update. If the update isn’t showing up, don’t panic, as it can take a couple of days to land on every tablet. If all goes well, we’ll see the update arrive in other regions at a later date.
