The professional VR headset is booming day by day. Today, Samsung launches its own stand-alone version of new VR headset (Samsung HMD Odyssey VR) which works as a stand-alone device. Though the smartphone maker was known for their Gear VR headset, which requires a smartphone to enjoy the VR content, this is something new from the Korean giant. However, there is no information regarding the pricing and availability of the VR headset. Unlike the most of the VR headset, this also requires a high-end computer or laptop with powerful hardware, CPU and GPU with at least 8 GB of RAM to have a seamless uninterrupted VR headset.

The headset offers a two individual 3.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, with 1600x1440p resolution and 60/90 Hz refresh rate, which could sooth the overall user experience of the device. The VR headset also offers 6-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, a proximity sensor with a pair of motion tracking camera, which should ease out the creating Augmented reality.

The device also offers a new AKG headphones out of the box. Which will enhance the overall VR user experience with the 3D-audio user experience. The VR Headset will be available in China, US, Korea, Brazil and Hong Kong before the end of 2017.

What do you think about the Samsung HMD Odyssey VR, can this take on the already available VR headsets like HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift?
