Climate Change activists who have for days disrupted bridges and roads through demonstrations in central London said on Friday, they have planned to protest, the civil obedience campaign, at Heathrow airport.

According to Al-Jazeera news reports, the organizer of demonstration, the Extinction Rebellion group, has said on Thursday that it will continue to campaign on Friday, this time at Heathrow airport, Europe’s busiest.

The group has pledged to continue protesting and organizing campaigns, which included sit-ins at special landmarks and busy roads, bridges in the capital of England if the government failed to declare a state of climate and ecological emergency.

However, the United Kingdom police have urged the protesters to reconsider protesting at the airport, saying the airport demonstration could “cause further disruption and misery to thousands of travellers, many of the families, over Easter”.

Metropolitan Police Service Assistant Commissioner Nick Ephgrave stated, “Protesters can expect a robust police response. We are determined to keep the airport operating.”

Extinction Rebellion group co-founder Gail Bradbrook stated that “more people are joining us all the time”, adding, “It’s certainly an option that tactics will be escalated if our demands are not met.”

According to the interior ministry, about thousands of police personnel were deployed to the streets of the capital for each day this week.
