New Delhi, August 27: The Dominican Republic and India on Monday inked visa waiver agreement with would allow official or diplomatic passport holders of both the nations visa-free travel, as well as, a 90-day stay in each other’s territory.

The deal was inked following a meeting between External Relations Minister of Dominican Republic Miguel Vargas and Minister of State for External Affairs Vellamvelly Muraleedharan in New Delhi.

In addition, the two leaders also discussed ways and measures tIndia-Dominican Republic sign visa waiver pacto bolster bilateral relations and cooperation in several segments, including renewable energy and trade, according to ANI news reports.

In a tweet, Muraleedharan wrote: “The bilateral visa waiver agreement was also signed which allows Diplomatic/official passport holders of India and DR a visa free travel and stay up to 90 days in each other’s territory.”

The minister also informed India is expected to organize expertized training courses for the diplomats and officials of the Caribbean nations under the ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation) programme.
