Bern, Sep 14: Switzerland and India have on Friday inked three Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) to deepen cooperation in various fields such as science & technology, people-to-people, and climate change ties following a high-delegation level meeting between Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and his Swiss counterpart Ueli Maurer.

In a tweet, Kovind said, “India and Switzerland signed three agreements on: 1. Technical cooperation on climate change. 2. Science and technology alliance. 3. Renewal of Hindi Chair at University of Lausanne.”

During the phone talks, both the pioneers assured their strong commitment to bolstering technology and economic cooperation between Switzerland and India, according to ANI news reports.

Both sides agreed terrorism poses a grave risk to humanity. Kovind also conveyed India has long been a victim of state-sponsored and cross-border terrorism for decades, following which Maurer extended its backing to enhance and deepen combat against terrorism in all its manifestations.

Kovind met the Indian Business Delegation in Bern. He also addressed the India-Switzerland Business Roundtable.

Kovind has embarked on an official three-nation visit to Switzerland, Iceland and Slovenia since September 9. He arrived in Bern yesterday, following the completion of his bilateral engagements in Iceland.
