Pakistan has on Monday released a bath of 100 Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture, who reached India via the Attari-Wagha border.

According to ANI news reports, the recent release of seized men marked the third batch released by the Pakistani government, who had pledged to release 355 Indian fishermen, including other five civilians from their prison.

Pakistan has so far released some 300 Indian fishermen, and the last batch of fishermen was released on April 15 by Pakistan. The fishermen were allegedly detained during their voyage into Pakistani waters illegally for fishing.

The remaining Indian civilians and fishermen, who are still captured and detained in Pakistani jail are likely to get released by April 29.

The fishermen were taken from Malir Jail, which resides in Karachi, to Lahore via train on Sunday. The authorities of Pakistan has handed Indian fishermen over to the Border Security Forces (BSF) after a retreat ceremony at the Attari border.
