Russian foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov has said on Friday Moscow insists on instituting a complete ban over military exercises using nuclear weapons in any non-nuclear states.

According to Sputnik news reports, Ryabkov has said a complete ban should be introduced on any drills related to honing skills of using nuclear weapons in non-nuclear states.

The diplomat further added saying the United States has not yet responded to Moscow’s proposal to issuing a joint resolution over the avoidance of nuclear war.

Further speaking, Ryabkov stated Washington had provided its justification for the deployment of THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defence) system in Romania, while Russia was reviewing these reasons.

During a media briefing, Ryabkov said, “Yes, we have received a certain amount of information and justifications for the temporary deployment of… THAAD systems during relevant works at the missile defence facility … We have taken this into account, we are studying these reasons.”

The US European Command has stated THAAD would be, in the summer, moved to Romania, during some maintenance operation on the Aegis Ashore which is located there.

On possible nuclear deal, Russia will review and analyse all US President Donald Trump’s ideas over a fresh nuclear treaty when it will receive a proposal from the US.

“If we receive specific proposals, of course, we will analyze what the US side might offer us and contact them over the matter,” the diplomat said.

The White House is in ongoing discussions over option for Trump to pursue a fresh nuclear deal, the New START Treaty, which will expire in 2021, American officials have on Friday told CNN.

The US president is eyeing a fresh potential foreign policy achievement, a grand nuclear agreement with China and Russia.
