The United States federal prosecutors are about to reveal the criminal charges against Chinese hackers, who claimed to be linked with Chinese authority and allegedly peculates data from the US companies.
The Chinese operation has been termed as “Cloudhopper” by a senior US intelligence officials, as it is one of the most successful and expansive hacking scheme which was ever recorded. The Wall Street Journal has on December 7, described the pending charges over the Chinese hackers.
According to news report, the two US senior officials – not authorized to reveal or discuss the investigation, said that the violations by hackers which is associated with China’s ministry of state security, has allowed the country China to acknowledge and gather a large amount of data based on the US companies with wide range of all American business.
“Cloudhopper” always aims to focus on hacking the large, data storage company, third party and all the cloud software services which are used by companies that stores a large quantities of data for the US companies and also the US government agencies.
According to a report by British multinational defence contractor BAE system, in the early 2017, the cyber-attack began, which is connected to Cloudhopper. BAE system has its own internal cyber security research unit, which is used to publish few of its finding for the marketing purposes.
The national security agency and the justice department refused to respond a comment quickly over the matter of Chinese hackers. The Chinese embassy in the country US also refused to comment on this issue.
According to the US officials, the criminal charges may follows penalties measure and sanctions. However, officials did not revealed who might be triggered under the sanctions.
